Leanne Toshiko Simpson

I write on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabe, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. Toronto (Tkaronto) is governed by the Dish With One Spoon Covenant, a treaty affirming shared stewardship of this land.   I acknowledge this history and our responsibility to engage meaningfully with Indigenous communities, and I'm grateful to create and teach on this territory.
